Poppy Skirt

A week ago I picked up this cotton poppy print fabric to make a skirt. I need some summer clothes that are light, which can be layered and can go with many different  tops.  I dithered a bit on what skirt to make, but in the end came up with Simplicity # 2224.  This pattern offers a three pull on skirt options, shorts, and two pairs of pants.

I would say that a beginner sewer can make this garment and have no issue from start to finish in getting this done.  I think that I will be able to match with a tank top, or t shirt and put a simple jacket over top or cardy depending on the weather that day. The only thing that I am not so keen on about this skirt is the drawstring waist. The ribbon just kind of hangs there.
