Etno Blog Hop

 Welcome to my blog and the Pat Bravo Etno blog tour. My name is Lara and I have been quilting and sewing for more than 20 years. In all that time I have never had an opportunity until now to participate in a blog tour. Needless to say, I am very excited to participate in Pat's Etno blog tour with a wonderful bunch of creative women. Now on to what I made for the tour.

Stitched Anthomania Deep

 As I am comfortable with both mediums of stitching,  I offered to make a garment from the fabric line and Pat sent me this lovely knit Stitched Anthomania Deep.  If you have not had a chance to use any of the knits from the Art Gallery, you will not be disappointed.  The fabric washes up  beautifully, is soft to the touch and very appealing. The weave is such that you do not have to worry about fraying or losing its shape.

You can see from the photo above the Stitched Anthomania deep is a detailed print, that has quite a few colors in it.  Its perfect for my friend, Faith who was willing to model for the photos and you can see that we chose a few different tops to dress it up or down depending on your preference or event. The skirt is a simple circle skirt with a gathered waist band.  I used McCalls 6994 if you want to make your own version. From layout to last stitch took about three hours, and that was because I had to ruffle the netting.

Since Faith is very tall and I did not have enough fabric to make the skirt longer, I added a soft net band to the bottom.  I had no issues in adding a polyester to the cotton knit, they paired beautifully. Even better for Faith is when it comes to washing - just toss it in, dry on low.  No pressing needed. Perfect for every teenage girl.
