Dress Making

Over the Christmas holidays I will pick two or three project to complete.  Normally it is a quilt, but this time its a few pieces of clothing to fill out the wardrobe. Rifling through the pattern box, I chose Burda 7160.




I picked up a lovely piece of green jersey that I decided to make into a dress. While it is hard to see, this dress has a pleated detail at the neckline that is reminiscent of clothing in the 1940's.  The dress came together very well except for the pleating part.  I wish there would have been a bit more detail in this section of the pattern.

 I would make this pattern again, but the next time I would change up the how I do the neckline and cut back on some of the excess fabric.  I also would stitch the neckline. Now all that is left to do is add black hose, and shoes and some large necklace and I am ready to go.
