So I have had a productive weekend despite working. I cut into a new batch of fabrics from Connecting Threads. When I saw the Riviera line made into flying geese or dutchmans puzzle I wanted to make my own, even though I hate making flying geese. Thank God for the lazy or easy flying geese pattern that gives you four out of one block.
With a little bit of trimming I had 20 flying geese blocks out of a total of 256. I have a bit more to do, but I plan on doing a few blocks each night. Eventually I will have enough to have a quilt top as well as a few extras for a runner or the back. Here are a few samples of what I came up with two of three blocks.
This one is my favorite and just sings of summer don't you think.
